Set different styles to individual cells or sections
When creating a new table a default style is assigned. The table's style is applied to the table itself and all its cells, unless some are set otherwise.
Applying a style to a cell's content provides different results than styling the cell itself. For instance a background color defined at the content level does not spread over the entire area. Also borders are set inside the cell's boundaries.
To style groups of cells or individual cells put the content into table components (headers, footers, body, rows and cells) and apply the style to those table components.
